Chocolay Twp- Kathleen F. "Kathy" Lyons, age 80, Chocolay Township resident passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Kathleen was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on May 10, 1943, a daughter of the late Emil and Mildred (Kallatsa) Merrilla. She graduated from Ishpeming High School and attended Badger Business College in Green Bay.

Kathy worked as a secretary, mostly for insurance companies. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marquette. Kathy enjoyed bringing her comfort dogs to local nursing homes. She will be missed by her two dogs, Gabby, and Annie.

Kathy is survived by her husband Gary Lyons, whom she married at Bethel Lutheran Church on September 21, 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Mildred Merrilla and a son Terrance Lyons.

A graveside service for Kathy will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Ishpeming Cemetery with Pastor Chad Ott to officiate.
