Ishpeming, MI- Katherine Ilene "Kitty" (Peabody) Hendrick, age 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Katherine was born in Detroit, Mi on March 24, 1950, a daughter of the late George Robert and Constance Josephine (McCabe) Peabody. Kitty graduated in 1964 from Fenton High School and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Northern Michigan University in 1975.

Kitty served as the Arts and Crafts Instructor at Bay Cliff Health Camp for twenty plus years. She was a music educator who shared her gift and love of music to all she touched. Kitty belonged to the Choral Society at NMU. Kitty was passionate about creating with beads, glitter and felt. She loved musicals.

Kitty is survived by her daughter, Jane Hendrick, her son, William R. Hendrick, daughter-in-law Mandy Hendrick, four grandchildren; Josslynn, Isalde, Benjamin, and Gabriella Hendrick, former husband Lawrence 'Bud' Hendrick, seven siblings; Mary Soper, Janet (Paul) Perrault, Connie (Dan) Cobley, Bill Peabody, Paul (Pam) Peabody, Rachel Peabody, Jim (Patty) Peabody, a large lovely family of nieces and nephews, and her honorary family at Bay Cliff Health Camp.

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Peabody.

A Celebration of Kitty's life will be held at a future date and time yet to be announced.
