Obituary
Ishpeming- Karen A. Emanuelson, age 79 Ishpeming resident passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.
Karen was born November 9, 1934 in Ishpeming to George F. & Sylvia (Siltanen) Emanuelson. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1952. Karen worked for Michgan Bell starting in 1952 , she worked in Grand Rapids and retired from Escanaba as a Supervisor in 1983.
Karen was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, the Michigan Bell Retirees and the Dead River Campers Association.
Karen is survived by a brother Robert (Carrie) Emanuleson of Champion, nieces: Debora Spencer, Darlene (Jerry) Arseneau, Gail Hinds, Vickie Emanuelson, all of Ishpeming, Marion Emanuelson of Marquette, & Lisa (Dan) Swiedals of Michigamme, a nephew David (Nancy) Spencer of National Mine, 9 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: George, Jaryd and Richard Emanuelson, a sister Norma Spencer and a niece Lorie Mager Perry.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Bethel Lutheran Church from 4:00pm until the time of service at 5:00pm.
Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
