Tilden Twp. - Karen J. Cartwright, age 55 of Tilden Twp., passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her home while under the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice. Karen was born on January 30, 1957 in Ironwood, MI to Clarence & Betty (Weber) Banfield. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1975. Karen worked at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for 25 years working as a cook. Karen enjoyed the outdoors, taking road trips, visiting waterfalls and zoos. She enjoyed working on crossword puzzle and cooking. She loved her animals, especially her dogs "Jake" and "Cocoa". Karen is survived by her brother Clarence "Kelly" Banfield and sister Kathleen (Duane) Koski both of Ishpeming, her special friend Daniel Kangas, a niece Lori (Duane) Rantala, nephews Kenneth (Melissa) Rajala, and Steven Banfield, great nieces Makenzie and Carleigh and great nephews Christian, and Drake Asgaard, Aunts: Joann (Roger) Langa and Betty Jane (Jim) Mazzoli, and cousins Carmen Anderson and Doug Junghans along with several other cousins. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband Donald Cartwright in 2009. Karen's family will greet relatives and friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Trinity Lutheran Church where a memorial service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating.
