Ishpeming Twp- Julie Soderberg, age 55 of 1690 Glenwood Ln Ishpeming, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at her home under the loving care of family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Julie was born January 29, 1955 in Ishpeming, to the late Raymond & Betty (Holmgren) Oja. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1973. Julie worked as a bank teller for 24 years for Miner's First National Bank, MFC First National Bank, later becoming Wells Fargo where she worked at the Ishpeming and Negaunee branches, retiring in 2008.

Julie was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed baking. Julie was a devoted wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt; she loved being with all her family.

Julie is survived by her husband, John, whom she married May 13, 1989, 5 children: Brad (Maija) Niemi of Ishpeming, Jodi (special friend Josh) Niemi of Green Bay, Amy (Travis) VanAlstine of Charlotte, MI, Jeramie (Susan) Soderberg of Midland, MI and Jason (Kendall) Soderberg of Skandia, a brother Earl (Shelley) Oja of Ishpeming and sister Nancy (Chuck) Nora of Ishpeming, 8 grandchildren: Zachary, Andrew, Hannah, Elijah, Gabriel, Makenna, Bella and Kyla, sisters in law and brothers in law, Lori (Steve) Swanson of Ishpeming and Susie (Lee) Duquette of Sandy, UT along with nieces and nephews: Sharon, Eric, Raymond, Jackie, Seth, Jennifer, Jessica, Katee and Sarah. Julie was preceded in death by her parents Ray & Betty Oja and her father in law Robert W. Soderberg.

Funeral services for Julie will be held 1:00PM Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Lindenberg officiating. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Friends and family may call at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm.

A luncheon will be held following the service at the Wesley United Methodist Church.
