Tilden Twp- Judith L. Helsten, age 81, Tilden Township resident passed away Wednesday August 18, 2020, at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay.

Judith was born in Eagle River, WI on January 21, 1940, to Myrtle (Culver) and Louis Tallier.  When she was 11 years old her family moved to the Ishpeming area when her father was transferred to work at Robbins Flooring in Ishpeming.

Judy worked as a custodian at Bethel Lutheran Church where she belonged to Deborah Circle, and more recently she was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she previously served on the church council.  Judy also belonged to the Red Hat Society and the Michigan State Home Extension Group.  She was an avid reader, loved Boxer dogs, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Judy is survived by 4 children; Vicky (Steve) Racine of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Brenda (Dave) Keto of National Mine, Craig Helsten of Ishpeming Twp, and Erik Helsten of National Mine, a brother Robert (Yoko) Tallier of Atlanta, GA, 3 grandchildren; Meghan (Mark) Richer, Jessica Keto, and Erin Keto, a great grandson Jason Keto, and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, a son Gary Helsten, brothers, Jim and Bud Tallier and her Boxer dogs Moe and Dudley.

Honoring Judy's wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
