Ishpeming- Judy C. Bess, age 71, Ishpeming resident passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming (formerly the Mather Nursing Center).

Judy was born April 6, 1945 in Long Beach, CA to Ford & Mary (Hicks) Farrier.  Judy worked as a housekeeper and janitor for many years.  She enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, crocheting and feeding her hummingbirds.  Judy attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming.

Judy is survived by a daughter Cheryl Bess of Palmer, a grandson Ryan D. Bess-Dishno of Ishpeming, brothers: Lee Bays, Robert Farrier, and Dale Farrier, sisters: Linda Howard and Cheryl Raid, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Doreen Puttnen

Judy's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon with Fr. Dan Moll officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the spring at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
