Ely Twp. - Judith K. Liubakka, age 54 of 3310 Co. Rd. 496 Lot 8 Ely Twp, (Ishpeming) passed away Monday, December 06, 2010 at the Marquette General Hospital.

Judith was born February 25, 1956 in Ishpeming to Eiseri & Gertrude (Hintsala) Liubakka. She graduated in 1975 from Republic-Michigamme High School. Judith worked as a waitress for many local restaurants including the Hoist, Johnny's and the 41 Steakhouse.

Judith was a member of the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church in Negaunee. She had a special love for her family, especially her sisters and nieces and nephews. Even in death Judith cared for others, being a Gift of Life Donor.

Judith is survived by her husband James Parkkonen, 2 sisters: Sarah (Charles) Holmstrom of Nashwauk, MN, Kathleen Luke of Fridley, MN, 5 brothers: Steve (Barbara) Liubakka of Diorite, William (Carlene) Liubakka of Superior, WI, Robert (Bonnie) Liubakka of Florence, WI, Gary (Karen) Liubakka of Hibbing, MN and Glenn (Beth) Liubakka of Andover, MN, sisters in law: Vicky Yrjanainen of Brule, WI, Linda Paquette of Marquette, Rose (Mark) VanLinden of Marquette, Mary (Barry) Torreano of Negaunee, brother in law Robert Carriere of Marquette, father in law and mother in law Elden & Rosemary Parkkonen of Clarksburg, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and a host of brothers and sisters in faith. Judith was preceded in death by her parents, brothers in law Kenneth Luke and John Parkkonen.

Funeral services and visitation for Judith will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church, Co. Rd. 492 Negaunee with visitation from 2:00-4:00pm and services at 4:00pm with Dan Hintsala officiating.

Interment will take place at the Negaunee Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Judith's nephews.
