Ishpeming- Judith A. Harsila, age 72, longtime Ishpeming area resident, passed away Thursday November 29, 2018 at her home.

Judith was born on March 1, 1946 in Marquette to the late Robert and Helen (Zeish) Peterson. She attended Marquette public schools, and graduated from Bay View High School in Milwaukee, WI.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Dead Rivers Campers Association.  Judy loved her crafts, spending time on her lanai, spending time at her camp on the Basin and going to the casino.  She was known for her hearty laugh, great sense of humor and making people laugh.

Judith Is survived by her husband- Ernie Harsila, 3 children- Randy (Tania) Harsila, Debbie (Wayne) LaMere, Tonya (Brad Gleason) Harsila, 2 grandchildren- Tristen and Bryce Harsila, 3 siblings- Margaret Voet, Carl Peterson, Linda Peterson, special friend- Diane (Gary) Hamel, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- Donny Peterson, and daughter- Shawna Harsila.  She will also be missed dearly by her "Rat Pack".

A celebration of Judy's life will take place on Saturday June 8, 2019 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. A luncheon will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00pm when Rev. Lauri Maki will celebrate Judy's Memorial.
