Ishpeming Twp- Joyce Lucille Watters, age 75 of 255 Seilo Ave Ishpeming Twp, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 under the care of her family and Lake Superior Hospice at Marquette General Hospital after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

Joyce was born on September 24, 1934 in Negaunee, the daughter of the late Raymond and Lucille (Bond) White. She attended school in Negaunee and graduated in 1952.
Joyce married Raymond Watters on August 8, 1953 in Negaunee.

Joyce was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. In her early years she loved to read, bake, shop, and spoil her grandchildren. She most of all enjoyed time spent with her husband and family. She was employed with the NICE School District until her retirement in 1987.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray of Ishpeming, her daughter Janice (Scott) Eliason of Kingsford, son Mark (Patty) Watters of Fond du Lac, daughter Susan (Dean) VanLoon of Vulcan, and six grandchildren; Eric (Bethany) Eliason, Andy (Jodi) Eliason, Jason Leggitt, Jasmine Watters, Christian and Lilly VanLoon. She is also survived by siblings Rosemarie Warbritton, William (Peggy) White, Judy (Dave) Jandron, Jean (Mike) Viall and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lucille White, and her brother William Bond.

Visitation, services and reception will all be held for Joyce on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 440 Stoneville Rd. Ishpeming. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 12:00 noon with service to be officiated by Rev Tim Ott at 12:00noon and reception to follow respectively.

Pallbearers will be James Larson, Gerald Joki, Dave Jandron, Dale Watters, Ruben Champion and Dr. Wayne Carlson
