Ishpeming- Joyce Marie Lehto, age 87 of 1600 Mill Creek Court Marquette and former Ishpeming resident passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mill Creek Senior Living Center while in the loving care of her family, Linda Carlson of Lake Superior Hospice and the staff of Mill Creek.

Joyce was born March 5, 1929 in Ishpeming to Gust & Elizabeth (Hannuksala) Peterson.  She graduated from Ishpeming High School.  Joyce was a homemaker.  She enjoyed taking walks, was an animal lover and liked watching the Green Bay Packers.  Joyce was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where she was active in church circles and the quilters.

Joyce is survived by 2 children: Elaine Racine of Ishpeming, and Carol Truscott of Marquette, brother in law Richard (Joyce) Lehto of Ishpeming, 3 grandchildren: Scott (Edith) Anttila of Royal Oak, MI, Brett (Chris) Anttila of Ishpeming and Jake Larson of Marquette, 4 great grandchildren: Grant Anttila, Ava Larson, Bria Larson and Sannah Anttila, along with nieces and nephews.  Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, a daughter Susan Lehto, a brother George H. Peterson and son in law Leonard Truscott.

Joyce's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am-12:00 noon on Monday March 6, 2017 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where a memorial service will be held 12:00 noon with Rev. Warren Geier officiating.

A coffee/dessert social will be held following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Memorials may be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church in memory of Joyce.
