Ishpeming, MI- Joshua John Willey, 42, a resident of Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on December 7, 2023.
Joshua was born on September 3, 1981, the fifth of six children to Louis and Debbie Willey. After Joshua graduated from Ishpeming High School in 2000, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army. In 2005, Joshua moved back to Ishpeming and worked at Cleveland Cliffs Iron Company for 17 years.
Joshua's pride and joy were his two children, Blake Willey (age 20) and Skylar Guizzetti (age 16). He was an amazing father who truly loved his children and raised them to be beautiful people. He was also a devoted and caring son, brother, and uncle. In his free time, he loved to golf and fish, and he passionately supported his children, nieces, and nephews in their sporting endeavors. We can still hear him cheering from the bleachers and outfield. Joshua was generous. He loved big, gave big, and was always there for his family and friends when needed.
Joshua is loved immensely by his family and will be missed more than words can express.
Joshua was preceded in death by grandparents Clarence "Tab" and Thomasine "Tommy" Willey and Clyde Bengston. He is survived by his grandmother Kathleen Fitzpatrick, his parents, his two children, his siblings Kerri (Tony) Waun, Heather (Eric) Codding, Christina (Nick) Smart, Craig (Kristin) Willey, and Linda (D.J.) Manninen, as well as 11 nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private service will be held for immediate family members. A Celebration of Life will be held for extended family and friends on Sunday, December 17, from 2–4 p.m. at the Congress Lounge in Ishpeming.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the care of Joshua's children. Those interested can send checks payable to Louis and Debbie Willey, with "Joshua's Children" in the memo line, to 438 Marquette St., Ishpeming, MI 49849.
