Obituary

Marquette – Joseph M. "Bud" Ebner, age 94, formerly of 904 Forest Parkway, Crystal Falls, MI passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where he had resided for the past 5 weeks.

Joseph was born April 25, 1921 in Ishpeming the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Ayotte) Ebner. He grew up in the Ishpeming area and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1939. He served in the United States Marine Corps. from Oct of 1942 – Oct of 1945, having been stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. Following his service time "Bud" returned to this area and was employed by Inland Steel. He worked in the Ishpeming area until 1962 when he was transferred to Crystal Falls and continued his career with Inland Steel working at various mines in the Crystal Falls and Iron River areas until his retirement.

Joesph was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls and attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming. "Bud" and his wife Donna spent many summers at their camp located south of Ishpeming. He was also a member of the AMVETS in Ishpeming, and the VFW in Crystal Falls. In his younger years "Bud" enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, along with hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Donna Ebner of Marquette, son – Scott (Lisa) Ebner of Gladstone, 2 daughters – Sandy (Russell) Bruneske of Milwaukee, WI and Betty Ebner of Gilbert, AZ, brother – Ronald "Porky" (Annette) Ebner of Ishpeming, sister-in-law Vivian Ebner of CA, 4 grandchildren – Jennifer, Jessica, Bree and Mary, 2 great grandchildren – Jordan and Keane along with numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters – Carol (Art) king, John "Ozzie" Ebner, Jeanette (Wilfred) Hebert, Margaret (Orville) Dishno and Pearl (John) Coaty, and a niece Michele Bellefeuille.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am – 11:00am on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday with the Rev. Fr. Dan Moll to officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #380. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
