Champion, MI - Jon D. "Gumby" Koski, age 67, longtime Champion resident, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at UP Health System Marquette.

Jon was born in Ishpeming on December 7, 1956, a son of the late Aili E. (Mackey) and George H. Koski. He was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1975. Jon was the owner and operator of Jon Koski Contracting.  He served on the Champion Twp. Planning Commission for several years. Jon was known to collect numerous items from area garage sales and local thrift stores.

Jon is  survived by a sister, Susan M. (Milton) Collick of Fenton, a daughter, Kristen Koski, brothers-in-law, Francis "Chico" Nardi of Ishpeming, Richard Ducoli of Negaunee, Derrick Suciu of Roseville, an aunt, Virginia Hintsala Coleman of CA, numerous nieces and nephews, his best friend Mary Peterson of Negaunee and other close friends, Mike Simula and Amy Cevigney. Jon was preceded by his parents and sisters, Shirley Nardi, Vicki Ducoli, Janet Suciu.

A Celebration of Jon's life will be held from 12:00 - 3:00pm on Sunday July 14, 2024 at the River Rock Banquet Center in Ishpeming. Interment took place in the Spring at the Champion Cemetery.
