Republic – John Wisuri, age 78, longtime Republic resident and former Humboldt Twp. resident passed away on Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp. where he had resided since January of 2009. John was born January 4, 1934 in Humboldt Twp. the son of the late Jacob and Ida (Miller) Wisuri. He was a graduate of the Champion High School, and had worked in Minneapolis and Detroit following his graduation. Locally he had worked for Symons Wholesale Candy Supply Co. & the Action Shopper. John enjoyed spending time with his numerous nieces and nephews, taking them on long car rides and fishing. He will be remembered as a good brother, and "the best uncle." Survivors include brothers and sisters – Esther "Betty" Wisuri of Farmington Hills, Melvin (Doris) Wisuri of Ishpeming, George (Isobel) Wisuri of Menahga, MN, Robert (Lorraine) Wisuri of Cokato, MN, Anita (Paul) Tolkkinen of Minneapolis, MN, Charles "Eddy" Wisuri of Longview, WA and Faye Erickson of Menahga, MN, along with his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters – Marie Edwards and Ruth Woodford, and a brother Raymond Wisuri. A memorial service will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home at 11:00am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 with Thomas Prophet to officiate.
