Mesa, AZ - John J. Todd, age 81, passed away Wednesday, December 30th at Mountain Vista hospital after contracting COVID-19.

John was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on June 4, 1939, a son of the late David and Louise Todd.

He met and married his wife Myrna Aho in the U.P.  Worked for and retired from CCI at the Republic and Tilden mines.

John enjoyed cooking. Everyone loved his famous spaghetti and meatballs and lasagnas which he also made for many special occasions.  He enjoyed all sports, spending many years umpiring softball games. Also, woodworking, traveling, and especially being with family. He also has been able to enjoy spending many winters in Arizona as a snowbird.

Survivors include his wife Myrna of Republic. 5 children Lynette (Robert) Martin of Republic; Debi Geiger, of Wildwood IL; Aileen "Ikey" Todd of Republic; Valerie Byrnes of Allegan, MI; and Michael (Samantha) Todd of Freedom, WI.   His sister Mildred Todd and brother James (Carol "Chickie") Todd of New Jersey.  7 grandchildren Sarah, Katherine, Rebecca, Kristen, David Lesniak, Ashley Vance and Emily Byrnes. 2 great-grandchildren Jesse and Juliet. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers David Todd and Robert Todd, sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Todd and Ursula Newman. Sister-in-laws: Joyce Jenkot, Sandy Todd and Marge Todd.  Brother-in-laws: Donald Aho, Dennis Aho and Richard Newman.

No public service will be held at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Republic, MI.
