Ishpeming, Michigan- John R. Morcom, age 61 of 434 Jasper St. Ishpeming, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Mather Nursing Center where he had been a resident for 4 days. John was born September 5, 1951 in Ishpeming to Ross & Carmela (Valentino) Morcom. He worked at Robbins Flooring Mill for 25 years. John was a life member of the US Merchant Mariners. He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting and fishing and more recently time spent with his twin grandchildren. John is survived by his wife Pat Morcom, whom he married on May 16, 1980, 2 children: Angela and Joshua Morcom both of Ishpeming, twin grandchildren: Kady & Kody, sisters: Florence (Roy) Melka of Hazelhurst, WI and Christine (Bill) Santamore of Ishpeming, a brother in law Bob Sihtala of Ishpeming along with nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents Ross & Carmela, a sister Margaret Sihtala, a brother Michael Morcom, a brother-in-law Roy Melka and an infant son Michael. John's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, November 26 from 2:00-3:00pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 3:00pm with Rev.
