November 11, 1952 – February 6, 2019
John D. LaBarge, age 66, longtime Saginaw, MI area resident and most recently of Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of the nursing home staff and his sister Judy.
John was born in Saginaw on November 11, 1952 to the late Delbert D. and Nellie R. (Stanton) LaBarge. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw, and later went on to be a armored car driver for Guardian.
John was a member of the First Church of God in Saginaw. He loved reading religious materials, and studied his bible daily. He was a very generous man, giving money to any charity that was in need. John enjoyed spending time on his computer keeping in contact with friends and family. John had polio as a child causing him to be wheel chair bound. He was a very loving and awesome big brother who always was looking out for his little sister.
John is survived by his sister- Judy (Richard) Briggs, ex-wife and friend- Dawn LaBarge, niece- Lindsay, along with 2 other nieces, several great nieces and nephews including- Shawn, Destiny, Anthony, Ellianna, Addilynn, a special cousin- Charlie Stanton, along with several other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister Rosemary.
Per John's wishes, cremation will take place with graveside services following at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart, MI in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Church of God in Saginaw, MI, or a charity of your choice in memory of John.
