Negaunee Twp. – John D. "Jan" Corradina, age 72 of 129 Midway Dr. in Negaunee Twp. passed away suddenly on Sunday February 28, 2010 of an apparent heart attack at his home in Negaunee Twp.


John was born November 24, 1937 in North Lake Loc. the son of the late Angelo and Clelia (Boz) Corradina. He was a graduate of the Ishpeming High school, Class of 1956. Following graduation he served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in March of 1960. He returned to this area following his service time and worked at the NAEF Foundry in North Lake as a lead man and furnace operator until its closure on June 15 of 1993. Jan then worked for many years as a groundskeeper at the Marquette Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed watching and cheering for the Green Bay Packers, going for walks in the woods with his wife and pets, playing cards, especially cribbage and attending classic car shows.


Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lois Corradina of Negaunee Twp., a sister Lillian (Frank) Andriacchi of Ishpeming and brother Robert (Rita) Corradina of Ishpeming, mother-in-law Esther Wainio of Ishpeming, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law – Howard and Judy Taskila of Ishpeming, sister-in-law Doris Wainio of Negaunee along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a nephew Dominic Andriacchi, father-in-law Oliver Wainio, brother-in-law Michael Waino and nephew Michael Wainio.


Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Negaunee Cemetery.
