Michigamme Twp., MI- John Barry "Jack" Howe, age 81, longtime Michigamme resident passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at D. J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, in Marquette.

John was born in Michigamme, Michigan on May 1, 1940, a son of the late Wesley and Eleanor (DeRoche) Howe. He graduated from Michigamme High School, Class of 1958.

Following graduation Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Jack worked for Sawyer Stoll for twenty plus years, where he retired as a supervisor and continued to work as self-employed carpenter for many years. Jack was a handyman, always willing to help others, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. His beverage of choice was Busch Light.

Jack is survived by two sons; John (Rachel) Howe, of Michigamme; and Richard (Sara) Howe, of Fond du Lac, WI, five grandchildren: Lucy, Emily, Sydney, Zach, and Wesley, along with several nieces, nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Marian Howe, and siblings; Myles Howe, Agnes West, and James Howe.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held in Michigamme in the Summer of 2022.
