JOHN THOMAS (TOM) HEDETNIEMI
Buckeye, AZ - On June 21, 2016, Tom Hedetniemi passed away near his home. He died doing something he loved to do, which was walking in the desert.
Tom was born March 23, 1938, in Howell, MI, but spent most of his life in the Northern Virginia area. He retired to his family homestead in Champion, along with his wife, Pat, in 1993, and enjoyed being a naturalized Yooper for the next 20 years.
Tom is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, as well as 3 brothers, Charles (Pasadena, MD), Stephen (Clemson, SC), and Joel, (Annandale, VA) and 1 sister, Margaret (Seattle, WA). Both of his parents, Charles and Dorothy predeceased him.
Tom expressed his wish to be returned to the land he loved, and was inurned in Champion Cemetery in a private service on August 20th.
