Ishpeming- John James Chilcote, age 76, of 950 Wabash St. Ishpeming, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor.

John was born in Watertown, SD on January 2,1945 to Maurice "Ivan" and Lorraine (Vanderheiden) Chilcote.  He graduated from Fostoria High School, in Fostoria Ohio.

John known as "Crusher John" by his co-workers worked for Cleveland Cliffs for over 30 years, retiring as a crusher operator from the Tilden Mine.

John was a local coffee clutcher, who enjoyed the company of others at Buck's and Sherrie's Restaurants.

John is survived by 2 sons: Brian Chilcote of Hancock and Jeff Chilcote of Ishpeming a brother, Lee Chilcote, of West Millgrove, OH, a nephew, Christopher (Abby) Chilcote and a niece Lacey (Mark) Davis.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael.

Honoring John's request, no public service will be held.
