Marquette- John D Bartle, age 69 of 900 A Garfield Ave Marquette, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Marquette General Hospital.
John was born January 25, 1939 in Ishpeming to Cecil & Minnie (Goulder) Bartle. He served in the United States Air Force. John worked 31 years for Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company, retiring in 1998.
John is survived by his wife of 49 years Susan (Kangas) Bartle, 2 children Tammy L. (Randy) Kiekintveld of Holland, MI and John D. Bartle Jr. of Wyoming, MI, 2 grandchildren: Heidi S. Kiekintveld & Camron J. Kiekintveld, a sister Julaine Ombrello of Ishpeming, 3 brothers Wayne (Shirley) Bartle of Marquette, Bruce Bartle of Negaunee and Delwood (Marsha) Bartle of Negaunee along with many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
A private memorial service was held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiated. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
