National Mine - John E. Aho, age 65, of 3645 CoRd PD passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at Marquette General Hospital.
John was born on December 19, 1943 to the late John and Florence (Asgaard) Aho. He was a graduate of National Mine High School and a life long area resident. John was an honorably discharged veteran, serving our military in the Marines.
John and his wife Colleen (Granlund) were avid antique collectors, working at and owning Kate's Collectibles. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bird watching. John was a member of the National Rifle Association and was an enthusiastic Winchester collector. John enjoyed football and baseball and coffee clutching at "Bucks".
John is survived by his wife of 39 years: Colleen Aho of National Mine, Children: Sonja (David) Mroczynski of Wausau, WI, John T. (Toni Jean) Aho of Utica, NY, Grandchildren: Mia Mroczynski and John A. Aho, Brothers: Dennis (Patricia) Aho, Dale (Donna) Aho, Sister: Gale (Paul) Aho, nieces: Deanna, Patti Sue, and Elisabeth, LivKarin, Marie and Elisabeth along with a sister-in-law: Joyce (Trond) Loberg of Oslo, Norway.
Memorial Services will be held at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming at 1:00PM on Friday, October 23rd, with Rev. Virginia Eggert officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380 will conduct Military Honors at the conclusion of the memorial service.
Honorary pallbearers will be John's nephews: Dean, Dennis James, Keith, Roy, Jason and Adam along with his coffee clutching pals from Buck's Restaurant: Norm, Dave, Bob, Dave, Jack, Dennis,Yerimiah and Mike.
