Ishpeming, MI - Joel D. Anderson, age 85, longtime Iowa resident, currently of 200 E. Empire St. Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, while in the loving care of his daughter and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Joel was born in Britt, Iowa on November 22, 1935, a son of the late Octave C. (Church) and Elmer H. Anderson. He grew up in Iowa and was a 1953 graduate of the Britt High School. He worked as a truck driver for the Electorlux Corp. Joel enjoyed traveling and was an avid golfer, bird hunter, fisherman and ice fisherman.

Joel is survived by a daughter Molly (Brian) Fisher of Ishpeming and 4 step-children; Rhonda (David) Nelson of Iowa; Randy Kiesecker of Iowa, Kim (Steve) Jensen of Alabama and Duane Kiesecker of Iowa; sister Gay (Don) Riemersa of Chesterfield, MO; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a niece. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharyn Anderson, and a brother Neal Anderson.

Per Joel's wishes, cremation will take place with no public services.
