Marquette, MI- JoAnn C. Kokesh, age 76, former Manistique resident passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Trillium Hospice House while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.
JoAnn was born in Manistique on May 10, 1947, a daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Ekdahl) Jessick. She graduated from Manistique High School, Class of 1965.
JoAnn and her late husband Donald owned and operated the Big Springs Inn. Some of JoAnn's hobbies included reading, playing the piano, knitting and crocheting.
JoAnn is survived by a daughter, Missy (Mike) Provo, two grandchildren; Ryan (Nicole) Provo and Molly (Everett) Jansen, three great grandchildren; Mila and Lucy Provo and Emersynn Jansen, two sisters; Myra "Mickey" VandenHeede and Molly (Doug) Ryan, along with several very special nieces, nephews, and friends.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Jessick and Doris Howard, husband Donald Kokesh, brothers; Jack, Don and William Jessick and sisters; Laura Johnson and Marsha Lloyd.
A memorial of JoAnn's life is planned for May 8, 2024, in Marshall, Michigan at the Crossroads Church. There will also be a graveside service in Manistique on Friday, May 10, 2024.
Memorial considerations may be directed to the Trillium House, 1144 Northland Dr. Marquette, MI 49855 in memory of JoAnn.
