Tilden Twp,- Jeanette Marie Wiitala (Raisanen) Luoma, age 76 of 540 Co. Rd PPR Ishpeming (Tilden Twp) passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at her home while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice. Jeanette was born June 17, 1937 in Ishpeming Twp to Sylvester & Ina Marie (Mattson) Wiitala. She attended the North Lake School and graduated with a GED from the NICE Community Schools. Jeanette delivered Meals on Wheels for AMCAB for over 30 years. Jeanette wrote many poems and had several published as well as having a book she wrote published, "One Dream Fulfilled." She liked to watch Law & Order and Criminal Minds, work on word search puzzles and enjoyed traveling, especially to German where she went several times. While on her travels she collected spoons and had a large elephant collection. Jeanette was a good hearted person, who gave to others and was affectionately known by all who knew her as "Ma". Jeanette is survived by 4 children: Michael Raisanen of Ishpeming, Ann Marie Poirier of Negaunee, Mark Raisanen of Ishpeming and Dawn Raisanen of O'Fallon, IL, 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brother in law Richard (Molly) Raisanen of Alabama, sister in law Joyce Claveau of Flint, MI , along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeanette was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Raisanen, second husband Warren Luoma, son Steven Raisanen, daughter in law Leslee Raisanen, infant daughter Jeanette, sisters: Ruth Baldini and Joyce Delongchamp and brother Rudy Wiitala. Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery. Family and friends may call the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.
