Ishpeming- Jean M. Ruohomaki, age 86 of 683 Cedar St. Ishpeming, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness. Jean was born June 6, 1927 in Ishpeming to Roy & Tyra (Eklund) Johnson. She graduated from Graveraet High School. Jean married Wilhart Ruohomaki in 1953. She worked in banking for 49 years, starting at the First National Bank & Trust Company in Marquette, M.F.C. and retired from Wells Fargo in 1995. Jean was a member of the VASA Lodge in Ishpeming, a former volunteer at Bell Hospital's gift shop and would assist with the Life Line. Jean enjoyed movies, watching her favorite football team the Green Bay Packers and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Jean is survived by 3 children: Paul Ruohomaki of Negaunee, Ann Magnuson of Negaunee and Mark (Teresa) Ruohomaki of Vadnais Heights, MN, 9 grandchildren: Chelsey (Jon) Montgomery, Michael (Callie) Ruohomaki, Caden (Kate) Ruohomaki, John & Jeffry Magnuson, Andrea, Julia, Sean and Cole Ruohomaki, 5 great grandchildren: Hannah & Alexis Montgomery, Michael, Sienna, & Camrin Ruohomaki and a special cousin Bill Bennett of L'Anse. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Tyra, her husband Wilhart, a granddaughter Tyra Magnuson, daughter in law Marcy (Finnila) Ruohomaki and a son in law Peter Magnuson. Jean's family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00-3:00pm on Wednesday, January 15th at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 3:00pm with Rev. Lauri O.
