Greenwood Location- Jean Rita "Chic" Junak, age 83, of Greenwood Location (Ely Twp.) passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Jean was born in Champion, Michigan on July 12, 1937, a daughter of the late Beulah (Deerie) and Irving Plankey.  She graduated from Champion High School, class of 1954.

Jean was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Ishpeming.  Jean would watch the cooking channel from morning to night and was a wonderful cook and baker.  In her younger years she loved riding her bike and spending time at Champion Beach.  She loved family time and was a social butterfly.

Jean is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Junak Jr currently residing at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, 5 children: Danny "Jocko" (Pat) Junak of Ishpeming, Cathy Talsma of Ishpeming, Dennis (Joan) Junak of Sumter, SC, Mark (Lisa) Junak of Ishpeming and Greg (Lee Ann) Junak of  Greenville, WI, grandchildren: Kristy Junak, Rick and David Larmour, Jordan Talsma, Makayla Junak, Ernest and Tim Junak, Amethyst Watts, Ashley Mann, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Danny Junak Jr. and a sister Rosemary Junak.

Due to covid-19, A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. Ryan Ford as celebrant.

Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The Mass will be livestreamed, which can be found at ishpemingcatholic.com/live beginning at 10:50 am on Wednesday July 22, 2020.
