Three Lakes, MI – Jean L. Guster of Three Lakes passed away while surrounded by her loved ones, on Thursday November 27, 2014 in the Intensive Care Unit at UP Health System – Marquette after being a patient there for the past week.
Jean was born February 11, 1953 in Hibbing, MN the daughter of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Adamson) Ramsey. The family moved to this area in 1965, with Jean graduating from the Ishpeming High School in 1971. Jean attended Northern Michigan University, graduating with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had worked at the Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming for nearly 20 years both as a LPN and in the billing dept. as a clerk. Jean then was employed as office manager at Star Industries for nearly 10 years, retiring in 2005.
Jean was known to be adventurous, in her younger years as part of "The Slickers" group, and in her later years going two-tracking with her husband. She looked forward to the Friday night ladies group on Lake Beaufort. Jean also enjoyed doing scrapbooking projects along with sharing and learning scrapbooking ideas online. Jean especially loved trips to the cabin on Lake 30 in MN, and getting to visit with her childhood friends that still reside in the area. Jean enjoyed her time spent volunteering in the POR races. Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family. Her sons, husband, and grandchildren meant the world to her, and there wasn't a day that went by that she didn't let them know it. Whether it was a daily phone call, a funny Facebook post, or a surprise visit, Jean always let them know how much she loved them.
