Ishpeming – Jean M. Anderson, age 85, formerly of 502 N. Fifth St. and currently of the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at U.P. Health System Bell while in the loving care of her family.

Jean was born June 14, 1931 in Crystal Falls, MI to the late Thomas and Cecile (Barnett) DeMark. She spent her childhood years growing up in Florence, WI where she graduated from Florence High School in the class of 1949.

Jean married Robert "Pinky" Anderson and became a longtime Ishpeming resident. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. Jean enjoyed going for coffee daily at McDonalds with her friends Cokie Bertucci, and Margaret Hares. She loved going shopping even up until the last few days of her life. Jean especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.

Jean is survived by her 4 children: Roberta (Jerry) Luokkala of Ishpeming, Mary Ellen (Dale) Toivonen of Ishpeming, Thomas Anderson Munising, Susan (Robbie) Dobson of Ishpeming, 6 grandchildren: Crystal (Rob) Faull, Angie (AJ) Vidlund, Michael (Jen) Toivonen, Rachel (Jason) Argall, Jessica Dobson, Natalee Dobson, 8 great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Ava, Jack, Luke, Gavin, Griffin, Aili, and Alex. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Pinky Anderson.

Private funeral services will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church in memory of Jean.
