Republic- Jason L. Perry, age 53, longtime area resident, passed away at his home on Saturday April 18, 2026 following a long illness.

Jason was born on July 9, 1972 in Waukesha, WI, son of Geraldine Juchemich and the late Paul Perry. He grew up around the suburbs of Chicago, starting school in Waukegan, IL, and graduating from Zion Benton High School. Jason worked as a heavy equipment operator for Lake County Grading in Libertyville, IL for many years before stepping away to move to Republic to help his father.

Jason was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 out of Countryside, IL. He enjoyed fishing, going on trips to the casino, travelling when he could, and spending time with his friends.

Jason is survived by his mother; Geraldine Miller, and “constant companion” Milo, uncle; Keith Perry, aunt; Diane Perry, cousins; Rachael (Tom Voelske) Verbist, Ryan Willey, nieces, nephews, and numerous other cousins and extended family, and friend; Jim. He was preceded in death by his father; Paul Perry, step-father; Ronald Miller, maternal grandparents; Ruth Fischer and Larry Juchemich, paternal grandparents; Robert and Irma Perry, aunt; Debra Willey, along with numerous other aunts and uncles.

Jason’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home on Friday May 1, 2026 from 11:00am until 12:00pm. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm with Rev. Alex Ross officiating.
