Michigamme – Janet Stebbins, age 66 of 21251 Nestoria Rd., passed away on January 1, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Ishpeming Twp. Janet had been under the loving care of her family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice. Janet was born April 21, 1946 in Michigamme the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Jaykka) Keski, and was a lifelong Michigamme area resident. Janet had worked for over 20 years in the commercial construction industry for Mattila Construction Co. out of Houghton, MI. Along with her first job, Janet also worked at the Cozy Inn in Nestoria for many years. Janet loved spending time with her grandchildren, enjoyed the outdoors, either tending to her flower gardens or going for 4-wheeler rides with her family and friends. Survivors include 3 daughters – Deborah (Don) Mattson of Negaunee, Robin (Lee) Luke of Ishpeming and Tina Lahnanen of Ishpeming, grandchildren – Jamie, Megan, Justin, Amber and Dylan, a sister Barbara Burgess of El Dorado, CA, a brother Ken (Gerine) Jaykka of Diorite Loc., a brother-in-law Gerald Tchida of Hancock, along with her closest of friends Larry & Darlene Lentz of Michigamme, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers – Robert, Gordon, Keith and Steve Keski, a sister Shirley Tchida and a brother-in-law John Burgess. The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday January 5, 2013 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm on Saturday in the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with the Rev. Lauri O. Maki to officiate.
