Ishpeming – Janet M. "Toody" Mayrand, age 83, longtime resident of 896 N. Main St., Ishpeming passed away on Thursday September 18, 2014 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee where she had resided since July 11, 2013.

Janet was born April 15, 1931 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Nylander) Mayrand. She attended the Ishpeming Schools and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1949. "Toody" retired from UPPCO where she had worked for many years in the Ishpeming office. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she had been active with the St. John's Altar Society and served with the ladies guild at funeral lunches.

Janet is survived by 3 sisters-in-law – Faye Mayrand of Ishpeming, Mary Mayrand of Negaunee and Ann Mayrand of Ohio, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her twin brother Joseph Mayrand, two other brothers Robert and Charles Mayrand and a sister Patricia Nelson.

A private graveside service, in accordance with her wishes, will be held at the Negaunee Cemetery with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate.

Memorials may be directed to the St. John's Catholic Church in Janet's memory.
