Ishpeming, MI - Jane Marie Walsh, age 91, of 200 Saginaw St. Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, where she had resided for the past 4 years.
Jane was born in Colby, WI on August 30, 1930, a daughter of the late Theresa (Steinberg) and Alvin Foster and grew up on the family farm. She was a graduate of the Marshfield Senior High School, Class of 1948. Jane married Walter Walsh in Marshfield, WI on September 4, 1948. In 1952, Walter and Jane moved from Wisconsin to Ishpeming. Jane had worked as a clothing presser at the Eklund Laundry in Ishpeming. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jane enjoyed her bowling at the Ishpeming Miracle Bowl, time spent at camp, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Agnes "Skipper" (Donald) Rice of Ishpeming; a son, Patrick Walsh of Michigamme; 6 grandchildren - Craig (Bobbi) Rice, Brenda (Jeremie) Mackie, Regina Rolstone, Kerri Rolstone, Jody Walsh, Nicole Brewer; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband – Wally in 2008, daughter Gail Rolstone, daughter-in-law Pam Walsh, granddaughter April Rolstone, great granddaughter Mackenzie Mackie, and was the last of sixteen siblings to pass.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday with Rev. Fr. Ryan Ford officiating. The Mass will be livestreamed, which can be found at ishpemingcatholic.com/live
Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the church hall.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to Tammy and Dorothy from Marquette County Medical Care Facility who took such great care of Jane.
