Tilden Twp. – Jane D. Aho, age 84 of 1800 Co. Rd. PPV in Tilden Twp. passed away on Friday August 29, 2008 at her home while under the loving care of her family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.
Jane was born February 16, 1924 in Gwinn, MI the daughter of the late Irving W. and Flossie M. (Johns) Booker. She attended the Gwinn Schools and moved to the Ishpeming area at age sixteen. She married Bill Aho on August 14, 1943, and had just celebrated 65 years of marriage together. Jane was a homemaker, and loved time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid quilter, knitter and seamstress. Jane had a special place in her heart for her pet beagles.
Survivors include her husband Bill Aho of Tilden Twp., ten children – Gail (Ron) Santamore of Ft. White, FL, Bill (Karen) Aho of Ishpeming, Susan (Terry) Jandron of Ishpeming, Dennis Aho of Ishpeming, Rita (Dan) Niemisto of Gahanna, OH, Gerald (June) Aho of Goose Creek, SC, Debra (Robert) Annala of Ishpeming, Roberta (Terry) Annala of Vicksburg, Kendall (Laurie) Aho of Ishpeming, and Candace (Richard) Palm of Gwinn, three sisters – Sue Korte of Wheeling, IL, Rita Miller of Wauconda, IL and Marge (Tony) Nanfito of San Jose, CA, a sister-in-law Ann Booker of Evanston, IL, 31 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a great great grandchild Hope Hibbard along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Robert Ayotte, 2 brothers – Roland and Robert Booker, a sister Barbara Strege, and a grandson Curtis L. Argall.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Monday September 1, 2008 at the Salisbury United Methodist Church, where funeral services will beheld at 1:00pm with Rev. Terri Branstrom to officiate. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Faith Lutheran Church Hall.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons –Jeremy, Joshua, Jason and Justin Aho, Terry Argall, Dean Potila, Dennis Niemisto, Brian Jandron, James and Bobby Annala & Mark Palm.
