Ishpeming, MI- James Keast Tucker, born February 21, 1945, in Ishpeming, MI to Glenn and Edith Tucker, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family on April 29, 2024. James leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.

James found solace in his workshop, where he meticulously crafted beautiful woodworks that stand as testaments to his skill and passion. Beyond his creative endeavors, James was a devoted family man, cherishing every moment spent with his beloved wife Judy of 47 years and his three children, Glenn, Michael, and Christina. He also adored his grandchildren, Jaden Tucker, Cora Shepherd, and Alaina Shepherd.

His love for adventure and the skies led him to obtain his pilot's license at the young age of 16, a remarkable achievement that spoke volumes about his determination and passion for flying.

James graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1963. In 1965, James served his country with honor in the Coast Guard, enjoying his time in Panama City. After his military service, he pursued a career as an electrician at the Empire Mine, where his dedication and expertise shone brightly. After his retirement he enjoyed driving the school bus for the NICE School District.

James was a lifelong member of the Elks, introduced to it by his father at an early age. He loved the camaraderie of his fellow Elks and spending Wednesday evenings in the sauna.

James embodied the essence of fatherhood, never missing a game or event involving his children or grandchildren, always offering unwavering support and encouragement.

James is survived by his wife Judy (Hebert), his children Glenn Tucker, Michael Tucker, and Christina (Scott) Shepherd, his grandchildren Jaden Tucker, Cora Shepherd, and Alaina Shepherd, his sister-in-law Sharon (James) Richards, and nephews Peter Richards and Andrew (Amy) Richards. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Edith Tucker, his Aunt Lois, and his in-laws Dorothy and John Hebert.

James will be forever remembered for his bright personality, love of a good joke, and contagious laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Honoring James' wishes, cremation will take place with a Celebration to honor his life at a later date.
