Ishpeming – Jacqueline Marie Pauls, age 55, of 3745 Co Rd PBH in National Mine, passed away peacefully on Saturday September 16, 2017 at her home while in the loving care of her family, caregivers and the Lake Superior Hospice.
Jackie was born June 5, 1962 in Ishpeming the daughter of Ralph and Marie (Flack) Keto. She attended the National Mine School through her middle school years and was a graduate of the Westwood High School, Class of 1980. Jackie furthered her education at NMU, receiving her first degree in Nursing as a LPN and later her second degree as a Registered Nurse. Her working career began at the Munising Memorial Hospital and then she moved on to Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming. Jackie then became a RN at the DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where she was employed for 30+ years, retiring in the fall of 2015.
Jackie was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church. She had many passions in life which included her love of pets, especially her dogs Grizzly and Kodiak, and her cat Tigger, fishing in the Canadian wilderness, Snowmobiling, time spent at camp on Thunder Lake in Crivitz, WI, her flower gardens and crafts, shopping trips, reading and supporting the Green Bay Packers. Most of all Jackie loved her grandchildren.
Jackie is survived by her husband of the past 20 years Rob Pauls of National Mine, her parents Ralph and Marie Keto of Green Creek Loc., 2 step-daughters – Stephanie (Aaron Lohman) Pauls of North Prairie, WI and Stacie (Bruce Meuwson) Colon of Green Bay, WI, brother Rick (Chris) Keto of National Mine, grandchildren – Maddy, Hunter, Skyler and Alanna, her in-laws – Ken Pauls and Char & Al Pezon, brothers and sisters in-law – Rick & Karle Pauls, Julie & Chris VanPay, niece Kaitlyn Keto, caretakers including her best friends Carrie Wood-Osstyn and cousin Diane Savala, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 3 – 5 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Faith Lutheran Church. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 pm on Tuesday with the Rev. Doug Nordquist to officiate. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Jackie's family wishes to thank all who helped care for her during her illness including the Lake Superior Hospice and her numerous friends who's visits were always a bright spot in Jackie's days.
