Mesa, AZ – Irma E. Jandron, age 83, longtime Ishpeming area resident, passed away recently in Mesa, AZ where she had spent her winters for the past several years.
Irma was born March 31, 1926 in Italy to the late Emilio & Maria Floreancig and moved to the United States at the age of 20. Irma worked at the H.W. Gossard Company and worked as a waitress prior to working for over 40 years as a beautician. She owned and operated two beauty salons, the Beauty Boutique and the Cameo, both in Ishpeming.
Irma was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed card playing, especially bridge, where she was a Life Master. She also liked playing pinochle and cribbage and visiting a casino on occasion. Irma was an excellent cook and baker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her daily visits to McDonald's for coffee and visiting with family and friends. She will be fondly missed by her many friends at her vacation village in Mesa, Sun Valley, including her neighbors Marian Starr, Lorna Holmes and Lovell Campbell.
Irma is survived by her children: Robert (Kathy) Merrill of Ishpeming, Maurice Merrill of Ishpeming, Gary (Betty) Merrill of Spread Eagle, WI and Debi (Doug) Pellow of Iron Mountain, grandchildren: Kirk Merrill, Erica Merrill, Kristen Smith, T.J. Smith, Jeremy (Gwen) Pellow, a great grandson Jacob, a brother Aldo (Doris) Floreancig of Mesa, AZ and a sister Rina (Bruno) Fraulin of Mesa, AZ along with numerous nieces and nephews. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters in Italy and her husband LeRoy Jandron.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Scott Lindenberg officiating.
A luncheon will be held at the church fellowship hall following the service where the family will greet friends and relatives.
