Ishpeming- Irene Vicary, age 100, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she has been a resident since May 2008.

Irene was born February 16, 1914 in Rolland Twp, Michigan. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1932. Irene worked at the H.W. Gossard Company, and Montgomery Wards in Ishpeming along with Vicary's Grocery Store in Salisbury Location.

Irene was a lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Church where she was active with many committees. She enjoyed reading, ice skating, knitting & sewing, and working jigsaw puzzles.

Irene is survived by a son Thomas (Laurel) Vicary of Houston, TX, daughter in law Leona Lawry of Ishpeming and sister in law Ellen Tippett of Ishpeming, grandchildren: Bruce Lawry, Pam (Mike) Timm, Bernie (Cindy) Lawry, Sean (Diane) Vicary, Brent (Michelle) Vicary, John (Rayme) Martineau, Cindy Martineau, Michelle Martineau, & Penny (Frank) Malette, great grandchildren: Josh, Haley, Jon, Alison, Rebecca, Ashlyn, Taylor, Kelsey, Arianna, Mackenzie, Ali, Dillon and Jordan, along with nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Marian (Bengry) Hill and Walter Tippett & first husband John Lawry, and second husband Bernard C. Vicary, a son David Lawry, brothers: Seiba Brown, George Tooley, Dewey Tippett, and sisters: Alice Thompson, Dawne Smail and Dixie Smail.

A Memorial Service for Irene will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming with Richard Graybill officiating. Irene's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday at Grace Episcopal Church from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00pm.
