Ishpeming Twp. - Irene J. Vial, age 86 of 410 S. Rose St. Ishpeming Twp, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Mather Nursing Center while in the loving care of her family and UP Home Health and Hospice.  Irene was a resident at Mather Nursing Center for the past 6 ½ years.

Irene was born April 26, 1927 in Negaunee to Turri & Jennie (Rivers) Johnson.  Irene enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and working on word search puzzles.

Irene is survived by two children: David (Connie) Vial of Ishpeming and Diane (Mike) Mingori of Negaunee, seven grandchildren: Marci (John Gregorich) Saari, Christy (Jay) Blewett, Cory (Paula) Vial, Katie Vial, Stephanie (Shawn) Maki, Keith (Shelley Londo) Mingori and Michael (Yvonne) Vial, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, a son Norman, and brothers: Wesley, Ralph, Howard and Turri Johnson and sisters: Priscilla Ogea and Evelyn Dunstan.

Honoring Irene's request there will be no public service.  A private graveside service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Irene's family would like to give a special thank you to those who cared for Irene so well at Mather Nursing Center, especially Sue.
