Ishpeming – Howard A. McMasters, age 67, of 211 S. Second St. in Ishpeming died on Sunday, August 12, 2007 in the Emergency Room at Marquette General Hospital.

Howard was born October 14, 1939 in Chicago IL., the son of Virginia McMasters and was raised by his grandparents Ellsworth W. and Frances M. McMasters. He spent 24 years in the United States Army. He retired in 1981 with the rank of SFC. Howard was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.


Howard is survived by his wife of 24 years, Frances (Bernatowicz) McMasters of Ishpeming, three children: Johanna McMasters of Gwinn, MI, Katrina McMasters of Ishpeming, and Karl McMasters of Ishpeming, two sisters-in-law: Joan (James) McPhillips of L'Anse, and Mary (John) McAnaw of Fairfax, VA., along with numerous nieces and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 207 at 10:30a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. James Challancin officiating. Burial will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in L'Anse.
