Hope Carol (Sundeen) Blomberg, 83, of Ogema, WI, has gone home to be with her Savior on July 9, 2024, while at the home of her daughter, Jodi, in Negaunee, MI and under the care of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice.

Hope was born December 18, 1940, in Cook, MN to the late Carl and Lucille Sundeen. She was the youngest of 8 children. Hope completed high school in Cook, MN and spent two years with a traveling gospel team, where she met her future husband. Hope also attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and at the age of 22 married George Blomberg of Ogema, WI.

Hope and George lived in Ogema for a short period starting in 1963 where they had their first son, Keven. They then moved to Saint Paul, MN where their sons James and Keith were born, and then to Barron, WI in 1970, where their daughter Jodi was born. In 1985, Hope and George moved to the Ashland area for a change in George's career and where they helped start Grace Bible Fellowship, a church in Washburn, WI. In 2000, they moved back to Ogema and have since made their home in the original Blomberg homestead, hosting yearly family reunions.

Hope was a loving wife and mother of her four children. By dedicating her life to the care and needs of her family and home, she enabled George to pursue careers in education, agriculture, and construction. Hope was a meticulous housekeeper and loved preparing meals for the family and the many friends who were always welcome. She also loved gardening and preserving the harvest by canning, pickling, and freezing. She was known for her careful attention to the needs of others and for her joyful a ection for her four kids. In her free time, Hope enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and table games, especially Scrabble. She laughed easily and loved to tease her family. She had an abiding faith in God, enjoying her time in His Word and praying faithfully for her family and friends.

Hope was preceded in death by her husband of 59 ½ years in December of 2022. She is survived by her 4 children: Keven (Laura) of Ogema, WI; Jim (Kristal) of Bryant, WI; Keith (Billie) of Durham, NC; and Jodi (Kevin) of Negaunee, MI; 15 grandchildren (plus 8 spouses) and 19 great grandchildren, as well as two siblings, Eddy Sundeen and Lorraine Carlson.

A celebration of Hope's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Ogema Baptist Church, W5091 State Road 86, Ogema, WI 54459. Visitation will be the prior evening at 6-7:30pm (Friday July 19) as well as Saturday before the service at 10:00. A luncheon will follow the service.
