Ishpeming, MI -Helen Pauline Johnson, age 81, passed away on Monday, September 7th, 2020 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Helen was born in Ishpeming on February 23, 1939, a daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Trondson) Koivula.
She attended Ishpeming High School graduating with the class of 1957.
On June 13, 1959 she was united in marriage to Ernest Johnson, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming.
In her free time she was involved in the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club, and Marquette County Quilting Club where Helen won multiple blue ribbon quilting awards through the years. She also participated as a Girl Scout and 4-H leader.
Helen is survived by her husband Ernest
Children: Sheryl (Daniel) Kohl of Poplar, MT, Chris (Marlene) Johnson of Neenah, WI, Annette (Maximo Vargas) Johnson-Vargas of Glendale Heights, IL.
She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren: Michel, Karolyn, Brian, Joseph, Connor, Michael, Madison, Eric, Joshua, and Jacob. 6 Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Wyatt, Kaylee, AudreyAnna, Riley, and Sadie. Brother, Rodney Koivula and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helen was preceded in death by her Parents, 4 Brothers; Martin, Jack, Allen, and Robert Koivula, and Sister Victoria Baldini.
A private family service will be held and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to the Marquette County Medical Care Facility or any Shriners Hospital.
