Ishpeming, MI- Helen Alice (Pepin) Grzenia, age 85, Ishpeming resident passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

Helen was born in Ishpeming Twp, (North Lake) Michigan on May 26, 1936, a daughter of the late Adelore H. and Alice M. (Isabelle) Pepin. She graduated from National Mine High School, Class of 1954, and Beautician School.

Helen worked in the Deli Department at Jewel Grocery store in Chicago for 20 years, she was a proud member of the Meat Cutters Union. Helen returned from the Chicago Area in 2012 moving to Negaunee.

In her younger years Helen was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and more recently a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She also attended Faith Lutheran Church. Helen was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Helen is survived by three daughters, Kelly Chesney-Guizzetti, Debra Mendez and Kathi (Antone) Sims, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband William Grzenia, son Robert J. Chesney, a sister Jean Staniec, and 4 brothers: George, Donald, Robert and David Pepin.

A private graveside service will be held in the Spring 2022 at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee.
