Republic, MI- Harold "Sparky" D. Myers, age 80 of 6926 Walnut Dr. Republic, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his home while under the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice.

Harold was born on June 14, 1932 in Kalamazoo, MI to John H. & Regina (Patnode) Myers. Sparky worked for the Shakespeare Tool & Die Company and other companies in Kalamazoo for many years. While living in the Kalamazoo area Sparky enjoyed golfing, bowing, and playing in pool leagues. He was a member of the Kalamazoo-Portage Moose Lodge #88. Sparky also enjoyed traveling with his family, hunting & fishing.

Sparky is survived by his wife Patricia (Sager) Myers, whom he married on January 1, 1960, a daughter Debra (Michael) Gransinger of Republic, 2 grandchildren: Heather and Joe Gransinger, a sister Maxine (Robert) Grosser, a sister in law Shirley Myers both of Kalamazoo along with nieces and nephews. Sparky was preceded in death by his parents and a brother John Myers.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Republic United Methodist Church, Republic, MI with Rev. Terri Branstrom officiating.

The family will greet friends at the church on Sunday from 5:30pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.

Memorial considerations may be directed to Lake Superior Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Sparky.
