Ishpeming – H. Marie LaLonde, age 76, of 612 D Street, Ishpeming, passed away at 3:20am on Sunday March 6, 2011 at the Bell Hospital in Ishpeming.


Marie was born July 4, 1934 in Negaunee the daughter of the late James A. and Mae (Tucker) Johnson. She was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1953. She worked in the dietary dept. at Bell Hospital for several years, retiring in the mid-1980's. Marie was a lifelong area resident and a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Ishpeming and had belonged to the TOPS organization. Marie loved to go for walks, and to spend time with her canine friends Oddie and Sausage.


Survivors include two sons – Gregg LaLonde of Cheyenne, WY and Peter LaLonde of Ishpeming, a daughter Mary Bishop of Ishpeming, a sister Joyce (Ken) Maki of West Valley City, UT, 3 grandchildren – Kasey LaLonde, Christy Korpi and Gwen Bishop, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald LaLonde in 1979, an infant daughter Debra Sue LaLonde, 2 sisters – Betty Grenfell and Dona Lenten and a brother Jimmy Johnson.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Thursday March 10, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm with Mary Kelly C.L.P. to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the United Presbyterian Church in Ishpeming.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the United Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in Marie's memory.
