Ishpeming – Gloria L. Kangas, age 87 of 200 Saginaw St., Ishpeming passed away on Saturday September 17, 2016 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming while under the loving care of her niece Sherry Fredin, the staff members at MCMCF and Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.

Gloria was born February 17, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI the daughter of the late William and Emma (Grabowsky) Junck. Gloria grew up in Milwaukee, WI where she had graduated from high school and attended a year of college. Gloria had lived in the Ishpeming area for the past 40 years. She married Lauri Kangas in 1977 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming where she was a member. Gloria was also a former member of the Negaunee Eagles, Ishpeming Elks Club and the Ishpeming VFW – Women's Auxiliary.

Gloria is survived by 2 daughters – Diane (Gary) Webb of Palm Bay, FL and Georgia (Richard) Schmidt of Windell, NC, 4 grandchildren – Ryan (Jodi) Larson, Traci Schmidt, Kym (David) Gaster and Robin (Craig) Henry, 7 great grandchildren – Ryder, Chayton, Jacob, Nic, Zack, Jenson and Scarlett.

Cremation will take place with no public services to be held per Gloria's wishes.
