Republic Twp. - We celebrate the life of Gillian Dalby Barry, age 59 of Witch Lake, Michigan who passed on peacefully at home on Tuesday September 29, 2015 in the loving care of her devoted family.

In the final months she was able to fulfill some of her last goals: She saw both her sons graduate from Michigan Technological University. A licensed pilot, Gillian was able to fly, on Labor Day weekend, with both her boys taking the controls. And she was able to pass in the place she loved, her home on the lake which brought her much joy and spiritual experience.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 28 years, Douglas Barry, their two sons Matthew of Duluth, MN and Zachary of Witch Lake, and her big brothers Robert Dalby of Chula Vista, CA and Richard Dalby of Branford, CT.

A loving wife and mother, Gillian lived for her family, especially her two boys. She was born March 30, 1956 the daughter of Ronald and Martina (Delugan) Dalby at home in Leeds, England, and grew up in Saint Clair Shores MI, where she went to Lake Shore High. She graduated from high school, received a bachelors degree from Oakland University and married Douglas while living in Lake Orion, MI. Gill lived her last decades in Witch Lake, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where the wilds and connection to nature brought her in touch with herself and the transcendental nature of the Great Spirit both inside and out. She loved to write, enjoyed photography and paddling her kayak to that special place on the lake where time would stand still, where she felt connected to the world around her and could see into the life of things. Now that union is complete. We will all miss her very much.

Honoring Gill's wishes, a private family service will be held.
