Ishpeming Twp- Geraldine L. Kipling age 86 of 160 Prospect St. Ishpeming passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.

Geraldine was born August 28, 1928 in Negaunee to Richard & Beatrice (Mitchell) Rice. She worked at the H.W. Gossard Company and the Newberry Dime Store prior to raising her family.

Geraldine was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church where she belonged to the former Elizabeth's Circle. She enjoyed knitting, throwing horseshoes and bowling. Gerri had a love for her dogs and was an avid flower gardener. Playing BINGO and trips to the casino with her husband "Kip" were also some of her favorite pastimes. Gerri cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Gerri is survived by 3 sons: Terry (Katherine) Kipling of Spring Lake, MI, James Kipling and Roger (Bonny) Kipling both of Ishpeming, sister in law Alice Rice of Ishpeming, 6 grandchildren: Heather (Mark) Pease, Eric (Betsy) Kipling, Brian Kipling, Michele (Jon) DeVold, Kara (Josh) Ball, and Kristin Kipling, 8 great grandchildren: Jaren, Jayce, Katie, Ben, Annie, Maddux, Chas and Gavin, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Gerri was preceded in death by her parents, husband William "Kip" Kipling, infant son Tommy- 7 months old, daughter in law Peggy Kipling, sisters: Rhoda Pelto, Marion Maki, Elaine Savala, and Elizabeth "Bibs" Trewella, brothers: Richard, Donald, William and Lowell Rice.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19th with Rev JJ Mannshreck officiating at the Wesley United Methodist Church where the family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.

A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
